Duquesne Light has submitted an update to the Pennsylvania PUC regarding its bypassable Transmission Service Charges.
This, along with previously filed new Default Service Supply Rates, allows for the calculation of the price to compare starting from June 1.
For general service customers (GS), the combination of the new Default Service Supply Rate and the new Transmission Service Charge results in a price to compare of 11.0282 cents per kWh effective June 1. This is approximately 9% higher than the current PTC of 10.16 cents per kWh, which is rounded to two decimal places.
For residential customers (RS), the combination of the new Default Service Supply Rate and the new Transmission Service Charge results in a price to compare of 11.4470 cents per kWh effective June 1. This is slightly higher than the current PTC of 11.25 cents per kWh.
These new PTCs for GS and RS customers will be in effect from June 1, 2023, to November 30, 2023. The official prices to compare for the period starting June 1, 2023, have not been published yet, so be sure to act fast.
Note: The Transmission Service Charges for most other commercial and industrial classes include demand charges in addition to a per kWh rate.
